Wednesday 8th February 2012
Topic: Everything you wanted to know about sensitivity of smoke detectors – by practical demonstration
Presented by: Rob Fenton (Sales & Marketing Manager, Pertonic Industries)
Multi-criteria detectors, Laser detectors, Photoelectric detectors, Aspirating detectors – how sensitive are they? How much smoke is visible when they go into alarm?
February’s technical meeting will be held at Pertronic Industries’ Auckland office, where a practical demonstration will be given on the response times of these different detection technologies to smoke. This demonstration will be in a normal office environment rather than a controlled laboratory and, as such, should provide a realistic and informative indication of the (small) levels of smoke these detectors are designed to respond to.
Refreshments will be available immediately before the meeting (gold coin donation appreciated).
Pizza will be provided (sponsored by Pertronic Industries) during the discussion period after the demonstrations.
Attendance is limited to 24 people. If you wish to attend please email your request to
Spaces will be reserved on a first come – first served basis, with priority given to Members and Friends of the SFPE NZ Chapter. Prior to the meeting you will receive confirmation of your reservation by email.
4:00 pm to 6.00 pm at Pertronic Industries Ltd, 359 Onehunga Mall, Onehunga
