Notice of 2011 Annual General Meeting

Time: 7.30 am – 10 am (approx.) - breakfast meeting

Subject: Christchurch Earthquake Feb 2011 – Urban Search & Rescue response
Dr. Matthews was involved in the Urban Search & Rescue response in the first few days following the February earthquake in Christchurch. In this presentation he will describe some the urban search & rescue activities and discuss the earthquake damage to the means of escape in some of the multi-level buildings.
About the speaker: Dr. Jeff Matthews is a Senior Project Engineer with structural engineering specialists Holmes Consulting Group. He has particular expertise in the seismic response of concrete structures and has been trained to participate in the initial response teams of the New Zealand Urban Search and Rescue unit.
The Annual General Meeting will include a light breakfast at a cost of $15.00 per head (money will be collected at the door – please bring the correct change if possible).
